Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 101 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start those conversations BEFORE we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

  1. I think Miller feel this way because it was all new to him, it was something he never experienced from the places he visited.
In other words what he mean by " I felt the naked strength of the people, their purity, their nobility, their resignation", is that the people were decent, had goodness in them, and knows how to accept things as they are, they know how to live.

  2. Have you guys been other places besides for NYC? Do the citizens of other cities or states or countries have qualities about them that you would say make them different than New Yorkers or Americans?
